BYLT's Year End Appeal

Bear Yuba Land Trust (BYLT) is a nonprofit striving to protect scenic open space and working lands in California’s Sierra Nevada foothills and mountains.

THE BRIEF

For their 2024 year-end fundraising appeal, BYLT wanted to mail out a large brochure featuring a beautiful map that had been commissioned by a different artist. They requested that one side of the brochure feature large-scale photos prominently, while the reverse side use the map to call-out project updates from throughout the year.

THE SOLUTION

This 16" x 18" brochure drew its color scheme from the map that I was provided. The campaign's messaging drew on themes of movement and migration which inspired the use of soft gradients. A triptych of photos was created to illustrate the migration corridor from low to high elevations. Once the brochure was created, a small batch of digital graphics was produced to help support the campaign via email and social media channels.
